1. Who we are

Pedal Bench ("the Service") is operated by Amped Strings Inc, a California S‑Corporation ("we", "us", "our"). We act as the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. Contact us at Hello@AmpedStrings.com.

2. Personal data we collect

Account data: email address, display name, password hash, authentication provider IDs.
User content: projects, schematics, netlists, comments, uploads.
Support communications: messages you send us.
Usage and device data: pages viewed, actions taken, IP address, browser/device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP.
Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 9.

Payment data (card details, billing address) is collected directly by our reseller, Paddle, and is not stored on our servers.

3. Why we use it and our legal basis

Provide the Service (contract): account creation, saving your work, delivering features you request.
Security and fraud prevention (legitimate interests / legal obligation): detecting abuse, protecting accounts.
Product improvement and analytics (legitimate interests): understanding which features are used.
Customer support (contract / legitimate interests): responding to your messages.
Marketing (consent, where required): occasional product emails — you can opt out anytime.
Legal compliance (legal obligation): tax, accounting, responding to lawful requests.

4. Who we share data with

Service providers / subprocessors: hosting, database, email, error monitoring, and analytics vendors that process data on our behalf.
Paddle.com Market Limited — our Merchant of Record — for sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds.
Professional advisers: legal, accounting, and auditing firms when needed.
Authorities: where required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

6. Retention

We retain personal data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to satisfy legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations. Account content is deleted or anonymized when no longer needed, and upon verified deletion request.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email Hello@AmpedStrings.com. We respond within one month.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our infrastructure — to protect personal data. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage strong, unique passwords and care with shared content.
